Lake Tahoe Ski Report February 1: Sunny weather for Super Bowl weekend in Tahoe (Photos)

If you like sunny, warm weather while skiing or snowboarding, this weekend in the Lake Tahoe region should be super!

And speaking of super, it’s Super Bowl weekend and two Lake Tahoe ski resorts have some cost-saving deals available.

Both Sierra-at-Tahoe and Mt. Rose ski resorts are offering discounted $49 lift tickets in conjunction with the San Francisco 49ers playing on Super Bowl Sunday. The resorts will be offering the discounted tickets to entice people to ski and snowboard prior to watching the Super Bowl.

Temperatures should range from the mid-40s to the low 50s today through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Evening temperatures are expected to be between 14-25 degrees.

Don’t expect snow this weekend – but do anticipate sunny, blue skies, a Tahoe characteristic during the winter months. According to the Weather Channel, there is a 10-percent chance of snow Saturday through Monday, and a 20-percent chance on Tuesday.

The Daron Rahlves’ Banzai Tour returns this weekend, starting at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. The exciting Banzai Tour culminates with five people (including Olympian Daron Rahlves) racing down a steep, edgy, roller-coaster type terrain at Sugar Bowl ski resort on March 9-10.
