Lake Tahoe ski report Feb. 16: Sunny weekend, but snow coming next week (Photos)

Although the Lake Tahoe region greatly needs some fresh snow, the “bluebird” days should be a nice way to enjoy President’s Day weekend for skiers and snowboarders.

Daytime temperatures at Lake Tahoe ski resorts are expected to range from the mid-40s to low 50s and in the mid-teens to mid-20s at night this weekend. The temperatures will begin to dip a bit by Monday.

The weather is expected to change on Tuesday (Feb. 19). According to the Weather Channel, there is a 90-percent chance of snow on Tuesday when a colder and wetter weather pattern hits Lake Tahoe and the Sierra.

The snow may continue through next week. The Weather Channel is predicting a 30-percent chance of snow on Wednesday, followed by 40 percent on Thursday, and 20 percent on Friday.

Due to the cold weather, the snow level could drop to 2,500 feet. According to the National Weather Service, Lake Tahoe area temperatures are expected to drop into the high 20s, low 30s by Tuesday.

Below is the National Weather Service forecast for today through Monday for the greater Lake Tahoe region.
