If you’re a fan of skiing or snowboarding in sunny, spring-like weather, the weekend will be ideal if you are heading to a Lake Tahoe ski resort.
Although the region greatly needs some fresh snow, the “bluebird” days are also a nice way to enjoy President’s Day weekend. Daytime temperatures should range from the mid-40s to low 50s and in the mid-teens to mid-20s at night this weekend.
However, the weather is expected to change on Tuesday. According to the Weather Channel, there is a 60-percent chance of snow on Tuesday (Feb. 19) when a colder and wetter weather pattern hits Lake Tahoe and the Sierra.
In Washington state, the Cascades have been having one of the best winters compared to other regions of the country and will see another storm on Sunday.
That will bring lots of cold air from the Cascades down to the Sierras by Tuesday and snowfall. It is still not clear on exactly how much snow will fall but at least several inches if not more.
Below is the National Weather Service forecast for today through Sunday for the greater Lake Tahoe region.
