While most Tahoe ski resorts are bringing in the New Year with no new snow, somehow Alpine got hit with 9 inches of snow on Monday!
Despite the overall lack of new snow this week, all of Lake Tahoe’s resorts have a significant amount. Ski totals are high for this time of year, starting with Sugar Bowl’s 150 inches at its peak. Sugar Bowl is one of eight Lake Tahoe ski resorts that have 100 or more inches of snow.
Joining Sugar Bowl in the 100-plus club are Boreal (132), Soda Springs (132), Mt. Rose (128), Squaw Valley (121), Alpine Meadows (108), Sierra-at-Tahoe (103), and Northstar California (101).
The Weather Channel forecasts a zero percent chance of snow today and Wednesday. Chance of snow is 20 percent on Thursday, followed by 10 percent on both Friday and Saturday.
The temperatures are expected to reach a high of 30-38 degrees today and should be within 2-8 degrees this evening. The temperatures rise by Friday, hitting the low 40s.

Today: Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. Patchy freezing fog in the morning. Scattered flurries in the morning. Temperature highs 28 to 38. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 60 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Clear. Patchy freezing fog after midnight. Temperature lows 2 below to 8 above zero. Southeast winds up to 10 mph. Ridge gusts up to 50 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny. Patchy freezing fog in the morning. Temperature highs 30 to 40. East winds up to 10 mph in the morning becoming light.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy. Patchy freezing fog after midnight. Temperature lows 9 to 19. East winds up to 10 mph in the evening becoming light.
