Lake Powell Triathlon

On October 17th, the third part of the Mountain West Triathlon Conference took place at Lake Powell in Page, AZ. Students from the Air Force Academy, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and Colorado State University all competed in the race. Per MWTC requirements, all participatants did the Olympic distance race.

A wonderfully cool day for racing lent itself to the racers' advantage. Though the water was a bit chilly, the cool air provided an ideal racing environment. Brock Logan, of AFA, finished first with a time of 2:02:37 and was followed closely by Will Naubors of CU Boulder and Derrick Rowe of AFA.

This race puts Air Force in the lead for the Conference followed by CU Boulder. There is one race left for this year's competitions: The Lake Havasu on 20 March where the Conference winner will be declared and receive the prize money.
