The third annual Lake George Oktoberfest and Fall Festival returns to Lake George Village this Friday, Oct. 11. The event will take place on Canada Street in front of Shepard Park. The street will be closed to traffic at 4 p.m. Friday as a giant “oompah” tent will be erected on the street to house the beer garden and stage for live German music. The festival opens at 5 p.m. Friday and continues through the weekend.
Arts and Crafts venders will set up on the street as well, selling their goods on Saturday, Oct.12, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fireworks will shoot off over the lake beginning 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Lake George Oktoberfest drew a large crowd last year to enjoy the German food, draft beer, German wine, non-stop live music, bounce houses and games. This year’s activities will include a giant rock-climbing wall. Parking is free on the Village streets and in Village parking lots (no parking meter enforcement.)
