Lake George businesses offer many options to treat mom this Mother’s Day

The Mother’s Day weather forecast this Sunday, May 11, is for sunshine and mild temperatures. It should be a beautiful day to visit Lake George. Many Lake George businesses are offering specials for Mother’s Day 2014, with a few freebies thrown in. Following are some of the options for treating mom this weekend. Most prices do not include tax or gratuity.

The Docksider, 298 Glen Lake Road, will begin serving Mother’s Day dinner at noon. A special Mother’s Day dinner includes beef, chicken and seafood entrees. The cost is $16.95, which includes soup or salad, entrée, potato and vegetable. Call (518)792-3534 for reservations.

East Cove Restaurant, 3873 Route 9L, is offering a Mother’s Day buffet brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The buffet will include eggs, waffles and other breakfast items as well as substantial luncheon items such as seafood Newburg, London broil and poached salmon. The cost is $21 for adults, $10 for children. Children age 4 and younger are free. Price includes beverages and a complimentary glass of champagne. Call (518)668-5265 for reservations.

The Georgian, 384 Canada Street, will be serving their traditional Mother’s Day brunch in The Terrace Room 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast items, salads, vegetables, chicken, seafood, a prime rib carving station, cakes and pastries are on the menu. Cost is $27.95 for adults,$22.95 for seniors, $11.95 for children ages 4 – 11, children younger than 4 are free. Call (518)668-5401 for reservations.

Lake George Steamboat Company, 57 Beach Road, is offering its Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. The boat leaves at noon for a two-hour cruise. The cost for the cruise with brunch is $46 for adults, $17 for children and $42.75 for seniors. For the cruise without brunch the cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children and $18.20 for seniors. Mothers cruise for free. You only need to pay for mom’s meal. For reservations call 1-(800)-553-BOAT or purchase tickets online.

Shoreline Restaurant and Cruises, 2 Kurosaka Lane, is serving Mother’s Day Brunch 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mothers get a free ticket to cruise on one of Shoreline’s luxury ships. The buffet menu includes waffle, egg, dessert and carving stations. A wide variety of seafood, meat and poultry entrees, salads, soups and vegetables round out the selections. The cost is $23.99 for adults, $20.99 for seniors and $10.99 for children ages 3-11. Children younger than 3 are free. Call (518)668-4644 for reservations.

Adirondack Winery tasting room on Canada Street is offering mom’s free wine tasting on Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Register for a wine tasting online.
