Lake effect snowfall for part of the weekend (Photos)

Conditions will be favorable tonight and Saturday for some heavy lake effect snow showers.

Grand Rapids National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Advisory for Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties until 10 PM Saturday. In this region a total of 5-7 inches with isolated higher amounts possible by Saturday evening.

They also issued a Lake Effect Snow Advisory for Lake, Newaygo, Kent, Barry and Calhoun counties from 10 PM Friday until 7 PM Saturday. A total of 2-5 inches of snow is likely is these areas with isolated higher amounts possible.

The lake effect snow will reduce visibilities and cause hazardous travel at times.
