Lake Conasauga hot lake trout and bass fishing

Small waters produce good fishing numbers and excellent fishing. The secluded lake in The Chattahoochee National Forest in North Georgia, near Grassy Mountain just west of Cohutta Wilderness Area is 19 acres. The lake was built during the Great Depression and opened in the 40’s at 3100 feet above sea level, making it Georgia’s highest lake of clear cool waters.

Validate good fishing

Largemouth bass (10 lb.) and lake trout grow in good hidden cover and deep stumps. The average angler will miss the hidden cover. Tube jigs, minnow jigs, jigging raps and jigging spoons were the most successful. The water is clear and the fish can be shy, adjust your presentation to meet this one important factor.
