Lake Compounce has many changes in store for the 2014 season.
When does Lake Compounce open?
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 10th, as Lake Compounce hosts its grand opening day for the 2014 season.
Major attractions added this year
Although Lake Compounce may be the oldest amusement park in the country, the park has tripled the fun this season with new additions such as, the first Pink’s Hollywood Hot Dogs on the East Coast, Bear Creek Campground with charming cabins and traditional teepees, and a weekend laser light spectacle that will ‘Illuminate the Night’.
Lake Compounce has also made the advantageous changes of offering two new season pass options and increasing the number of cabanas in Crocodile Cove Water Park.
The biggest dog on the East Coast
Lake Compounce has partnered with Pink’s Hot Dogs, a Hollywood Legend since 1939, to open an in-park location across from the Carousel this May. Pink’s Hot Dogs was titled the number one hot dog stand in a list of the ‘Top Ten Hot Dog Stands in the U.S.’ by Fox News. The eminent hot dog stand attracts celebrities such as, Jay Leno and Martha Stewart, and Food Network superstars Giada de Laurentiis and Guy Fieri. The East Coast’s first Pink’s Hot Dog is deemed to host its grand opening on May 17th alongside the Weiner Dog 100 race featuring Dachshunds racing for the title of Fastest Hot Dog.
Laser show added
Beginning July 4th, the new and magical laser light show, ‘Illuminate the Night’, will light up the night sky every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through August 24th. Produced by Lasertainment in Minnesota, a 50-foot water wall will veil across the lake with simultaneous synchronized music, projections and lasers.
Camping at Lake Compounce
Bear Creek Campground was announced earlier this year and will have its grand opening on July 1st. Reservations are currently being taken via telephone, and can soon be made directly on www.campbearcreek.com. In addition to the 20 fully-furnished cabins, 56 RV sites equipped with water and electricity, and 30 tent sites, the campground will also be adding 5 teepees. Each teepee has the capacity to sleep 4-6 people, and will have electricity and a mini refrigerator.
Lounge like a celebrity
Crocodile Cove Water Park has welcomed five additional cabanas that will be located near Bayou Bay, one of the park’s two wave pools. All of the park cabanas have been upgraded to V.I.P. status and will now include a free tote, towel, sunscreen, two large lockers and in-park coupons. In addition, guests can now take advantage of cabana food service by placing their order during the time of rental and can customize their preferred time of delivery.
New Season Pass Offering
Lake Compounce has expanded their season pass offering to give guests the choice of two season pass options. The Platinum pass will provide guests with unlimited entry into the park from May through December, including the duration of Haunted Graveyard and Holiday Lights. The pass is currently on sale for $74.99, or may be purchased in three equal installments of $25.01. Parking passes good for unlimited parking are up for sale for $34, and a 10% discount of food and retail purchases will be available. New to the 2014 season pass offerings is the Summer Pass.
The Summer Pass is available for $50, and is only valid for park entry from May through September with no additional perks. Guests are able to upgrade their day ticket to a Summer or Platinum Pass by visiting guest relations.
Buy One Get One Free
The park will feature many great promotions throughout the season to entice guests to come and see all the great additions they have made. To kick off the season, Lake Compounce is offering ‘buy one, get one free’
tickets for all guests during the first two weekends in May when purchased online at www.lakecompounce.com.
"As you can see we've got a tremendous amount of new and exciting things going on, and we are looking forward to an incredible season" says General Manager, Jerry Brick. "The campground has been in the works for some time and we're thrilled to see it becoming a reality, and the introduction of Pink's Hot Dogs is going to round out our food service nicely."
