The 7th Annual Lake Como 5K was held on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The weather was on the chilly side all morning with temperatures in the 50’s and a bit breezy as the runners took to the start at 10 AM on 16th Avenue in Lake Como in front of Bar Anticipation.
Over 500 runners lined up for the start. They were provided instructions from Phil Hinck of the Jersey Shore Running Clab and Race Director Jerry Frazee also of the club. Lake Como Mayor Michael Ryan was on hand at the start of the event as well.
The runners made their way east toward the ocean and then toward the Lake Como and around the lake into Spring Lake and then back along side Bar Anticipation for the finish where many friends were waiting for them to finish.

Among the large field was a contingent of over 100 from Staten Island who participated as Team DMZ in memory of Danny Minzella of Staten Island who passed away last December from a brain tumor.
