On May 8, 2014, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Kellie R. Comeaux, 45, 6675 Highway 90 East, Lot # 9, Lake Charles, in connection with the theft of a weed trimmer and a chainsaw, valued at over $750, from Stine Lumber in Sulphur. Her arrest was due to several tips called into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office from people who recognized Comeaux from store surveillance video. The surveillance video was featured in the local media and on social media sites requesting assistance in identifying the man and woman seen in the video.

When questioned by detectives, Comeaux confirmed she stole the power tools from Stine Lumber in Sulphur.

Comeaux, who is currently incarcerated in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on unrelated charges, was re-arrested and charged with theft over $500.

Judge Kent Savoie set her bond at $2,500.

The investigation is ongoing with more arrests possible.

CPSO Detective Glenn Lowery is the lead investigator on this case.
