Laguna Beach Tans hosts food drive for homeless pets

If you've been thinking of getting rid of that winter pallor at a tanning salon, Laguna Beach Tans in Bonaire has a great deal for you. Simply donate some dog or cat food, kitty litter, kitten or puppy food at the collection point in the salon, and get 10 percent off a 10- or 20-visit package or 10 percent off their lotion. If you already have a package with Laguna Beach Tans, you can get a free upgrade just by donating for homeless pets.

Salon owner Denise M. Smith is collecting the pet food to support On Borrowed Time, a group of volunteers and animal lovers who work tirelessly to find homes and rescues for homeless pets in danger of being killed at the Macon-Bibb County animal control facility, and to support local rescues that pull animals from the pound.

"We offer several tanning level experiences, packages and prices to fit every budget," Smith says on her shop's Facebook page. "We have the best tanning lotion prices in the Middle Georgia area and all are top of the line with a wide variety of designer labels. Spray tanning is also available either in individul or group visits."

Smith says the salon is located at the intersection of Highway 247 and Sandy Run. Donations will be accepted through December 31.

Laguna Beach Tans also offers unique gift items including the Night Lights Christmas collection. The salon is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, call the salon at (478) 328-9449, or email them.
