Lady Gaga appears jazzed about her duets album with Tony Bennett and with their upcoming live PBS television special taping in New York. The controversial pop diva has provided fans with a sneak peak of rehearsal footage from the show.
Posting on July 27 to her official Instagram account, Gaga unveiled footage of herself rehearsing the 1940 Rogers and Hart composed show tune titled "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" with the Brian Newman Quartet. The brief 15 second clip shows the "Bad Romance" singer showing off her jazz vocal chops behind a piano accompaniment on a dimly lit stage.
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter has been rehearsing ahead of a scheduled live taping with the veteran crooner, which will take place Mon., July 28 from New York City's Time Warner Center. The special will air Fri., Oct. 24 as part of PBS' Great Performances series.
Cheek to Cheek, a duet album featuring the pair of multi-Grammy winners has been in the works for over two years, but has had its release date bumped a number of times. Gaga has raised hopes that her much anticipated collaborative effort will soon be released by recently posting pictures of herself working in the recording studio with accompanying captions related to Bennett and the album.
The album of jazz standards was originally scheduled to be released on January 1, 2014. Bennett later said in an interview that the release date has been pushed back to March 2014, but the album has been delayed until late 2014.
The release will be Gaga's second collaboration with Bennett. They originally teamed on a recording of "The Lady Is a Tramp" for Bennett's 2011 Grammy Award-winning album, Duets II. The Grammy winning pair sang the song during Gaga's 2011 Thanksgiving special and, most recently, made a surprise appearance together in June at a New York's Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, as well as appearing together onstage at the Montreal Jazz Festival earlier this month.
Gaga is currently wrapping up the North American leg of her Lady Gaga artRave: The ArtPop Ball Tour. The next scheduled date is July 30 in Phoenix, Arizona, at US Airways Center. The next Canadian stop and final show of the leg is a previously postponed make up date on Aug. 9 in Vancouver at Rogers Arena. For more details, click here.
