Lady Gaga to undergo surgery for tear in hip, cancels rest of tour

Pop star Lady Gaga has cancelled all 25 remaining dates of her "Born This Way" world tour to undergo hip surgery, according to an announcement on Facebook Feb. 13.

"Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga 'Born This Way Ball' performances have been cancelled," reads the statement.

"After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal."

The tour cancellation comes just one day after Gaga, 26, revealed she was no longer able to walk as a result of synovitis, a severe inflammation of the joints.

"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for some time now, [and] over the past month it has worsened," Gaga shared on Twitter Feb. 12. "I've been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff. I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However, after last night's performance I could not walk and still can't. I'm devastated and sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible."

Gaga's "Born This Way" tour began in Seoul in April 2012 and was scheduled to wrap up in Tulsa, OK, on March 20, 2013.
