Lady Gaga premiered many new songs from her "ARTPOP" album live during the iTunes Music Festival on Sunday. The most noteworthy among the tunes was an urban number titled "Jewels and Drugs." Gaga teamed up with rappers T.I., Twista and Too Short during the performance.
Gaga opened the iTunes Music Festival in London with songs from her "ARTPOP" album. Lead single "Applause" was performed along with the leaked track "Aura" (which was thought to be titled "Burqa"). Those two songs show a more experimental electronic side to Gaga's new album, but "Jewels And Drugs" has a very urban sound to it.
All the rappers made it out for "Jewels and Drugs" except T.I. who Gaga said wasn't allowed entry to the U.K. Her electronic sound gets a very hip-hop lean with Too Short and Twista on board. Twista, of course, supplied a breakneck speed rap verse. DJ White Shadow was also on the track, giving "Jewels and Drugs," a twisted breakdown.
If "Jewels and Drugs" is any indication of the sound Gaga is exploring on "ARTPOP," it seems that she has plenty more surprises up her sleeve. "ARTPOP" will be released on November 11.
