Superstar Lady Gaga has canceled the rest of her "Born This Way Ball" tour after learning she needs to have surgery to repair a tear in her hip according to a statement Live Nation Global Touring reported on Feb. 13. The right hip labral tear is caused by strenuous repetitive movements according to the tour operator. In order to heal, the singer will be required to have the surgery and then follow with some strict down time.
Gaga had went through additional testing on Wednesday morning after making the pain in her joints public on Twitter after a performance in Montreal.
Lady Gaga wrote on her LittleMonsters.com website:
"I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans," she wrote. "However after last night's performance I could not walk and still can't."
Refunds for the canceled show performances will be available beginning on Thursday.
