Lady Gaga will be taking a break from her Monster Ball Tour and will be making a special stop at the White House. According to the Associated Press on Saturday, the pop diva and gay icon is set to perform at a post-inauguration affair.
Although her recent concert in San Jose, CA was reviewed as disappointing, Gaga always promises to deliver something a little bizarre and theatrical when she performs. So one has to wonder what she has in store for President Barack Obama who is being sworn in for his second term in office. A source familiar with the inauguration leaked to the Associated Press that the Grammy Award winner will perform at Tuesday’s ball for the White House staffers which is typically a private affair.
Lady Gaga was last at the White House after launching her Born This Way foundation. Along with her mother Cynthia Germanotta, Gaga spoke out against bullying at the White House. Since then, the pop singer has been a positive influence in helping empower youth to stand up against bullying and she has been outspoken for gay rights and marriage equality.
So it is fitting that Gaga performs for Obama who has also been influential and vocal in support of gay issues and rights.
Jay-Z reportedly performed at the event back in 2008.
