On Thursday evening, reviews for Lady Gaga's new film Machete Kills hit the Internet and based on how she reacted to the reviews of her "Applause" single, let's hope Gaga isn't reading her movie reviews. Early audiences say that Gaga's character in the film is a carbon copy of Madonna's Breathless Mahoney from Dick Tracy. However, Madonna's film was actually a hit.
But there is even more bad news for Lady Gaga. A new song called "Aura" is being used to promote the film and critics have panned the song. Spin called the song a grasping EDM mess while Stereoboard ridiculed the song as well. Many people think the song will chart worse than "Applause," which peaked at number four, but has dropped since. Lady Gaga claimed "Applause" would completely change the music industry.
Perhaps it is time for Lady Gaga to retire. Her records are selling poorly while her concert ticket sales are nonexistent. It looks like her movie career has died before it has even started. We definitely don't want to see Lady Gaga go into breakdown mode and would rather she start a family and use her talents to support other artists. What do you think, readers?
