Lady Gaga was definitely not "Born This Way." The singer has been forced to cancel the remaining dates on her "Born This Way Ball" tour, due to a labral tear in her right hip, her promoter announced on Wednesday.
Live Nation, the concert promoters of the tour, said the following in a statement on Wednesday:
She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal.
On Tuesday, Lady Gaga tweeted the news herself, starting with this tweet, and crossing into five total.
There's an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Ball. Im so sorry. I barely know what to say.
I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal
I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't
To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad
It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.
According to the Mayo Clinic:
A hip labral tear involves the ring of soft elastic tissue, called the labrum, that follows the outside rim of the socket of your hip joint. The labrum acts like a socket to hold the ball at the top of your thighbone (femur) in place.
The second image of the slideshow above shows a view of the hip, including the labrum.
Live Nation said those with tickets can get refunds from the retailer they purchased them at.
