Lady Gaga is a pop icon who doesn't lead the stereotypical "rock-star" lifestyle of sex, drugs and rock-and-roll.
In contrast, Gaga is a fitness fanatic who follows a healthy diet and works out a lot, even when she's hung-over.
Getting Tight Abs and Glutes Were Top Priority
The 5'1" Gaga, who was bullied as a kid for being fat and ugly, does 35-minute strength-training sessions five days a week to maintain her lean, toned physique and flat abs.
"She used to have very little muscle tone, but we firmed her up," says her trainer, Harley Pasternak.
"Most of what she wears shows her stomach, so her goal was to have the best abs ever," says Pasternak, who reveals that Gaga does six sets of 20 bicycle crunches.
'We Wanted to Train Every Ounce of Her Body'
Gaga, who sometimes gains weight, also does six sets of 20 skater lunges to keep her butt tight.
"Getting a great rear end was another priority for Gaga," says Pasternak.
"[For skater lunges] you cross your right leg behind your left and drop your right knee like you're curtseying," he explains. "Then switch sides and do it again to complete one rep."
To tone her thighs, Gaga does reverse lunges while holding a 10-weight in each hand above the knees.
For her arms, Gaga does six sets of 20 overhead dumbbell tricep extensions and lateral dumbbell raises for her shoulders. "We wanted to tone every ounce of her body," says Pasternak.
