On Aug. 19, Lady Gaga made a huge comeback appearance on “Good Morning America” and revealed that she is not only performing at the 2013 MTV VMAs, but she is also the opening act. “I’m so excited!” she exclaimed on "GMA" on Monday.
Lady Gaga made a grand entrance in Times Square. Dressed in all white, she rode up to the “GMA” studio in a vintage black Cadillac Eldorado convertible. It was 1950s elegance at its finest. During her “GMA” segment, Gaga talked about her hip injury and the painful recovery process. She stated that she didn’t discover that she had a broken hip until her 3rd MRI. She had to cancel her tour to undergo painful physical therapy. “It was intense,” she said. She added that the most difficult aspect was not being able to perform for or connect with her Little Monsters. “I thought of nothing but my fans during my rehab,” she added.
After talking to the “GMA” crew, Lady Gaga hit a big red button and the world premiere of her music video for “Applause” began playing on nearly every giant monitor in Times Square. She said about the highly anticipated event, “It’s a total dream come true.” The song actually released earlier than planned, but Monday was the big unveil of her music video. “I’m so happy you got to see the whole vision of the song,” Gaga said after the "GMA" debut.
