Lady Gaga reschedules Seattle, Vancouver concert dates

Fans were disappointed this week when at the last minute Lady Gaga had to cancel her shows in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. The pop star and “Mother Monster” was scheduled to perform on May 28 at Key Arena and May 30 at Rogers Arena, but was forced to cancel due to bronchitis.

Lady Gaga announced via Twitter that she would be unable to perform just hours before she was slated to go on stage at the Key. “I'm devastated I'm unable to perform this week. Ursula took my mermaid voice I've come down with horrible Bronchitis.” Fans waiting outside the arena were visibly upset when they heard the news. Some fans had even traveled from out of state to see the show.

For some people, seeing a concert is no big deal. Some simply get off work, walk or take a cab a few blocks away, heck they may even buy their ticket at the last minute. Then there are the real fans, the die-hards that are members of the fan club, that buy their ticket using a presale code before they go on sale to the public. These are the people that take time off work, plan their life around the show and not the other way around, and sometimes even travel a great distance in order to see their artist of choice.

To her credit, Gaga is not only aware that the majority of her fans fall into the latter category, but she respects them as well. Only two days after canceling her Seattle and Vancouver shows, her camp had announced that the shows had already been rescheduled for August 8 and 9, respectively. She is not one of those artists who cancel and don’t make it back to perform for six months or a year … or never.

The “Little Monsters” will get their time with Lady Gaga, it will just be a couple of months later than they had planned. Original tickets will be honored at the door. Tickets for the Lady Gaga artRave – The ARTPOP Ball tour are still available through Ticketmaster.
