Lady Gaga postpones shows in U.S. and Canada due to illness

Lady Gaga has postponed a pair of shows in Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle, Wash. due to health issues. The pop diva abruptly called off her shows scheduled May 28 in Seattle's Key Arena and May 30 at Vancouver's Roger's Arena due to a severe case of bronchitis.

According to an update posted May 28 at her official Twitter page, the "Bad Romance" hitmaker writes that she is "devastated" at being unable to perform this week due to the "horrible" voice affliction. Commenting on her condition on her official Twitter account, Gaga tweets, "I'm devastated I'm unable to perform this week. Ursula took my mermaid voice I've come down with horrible Bronchitis."

The 28-year-old New York native has been touring Canada this month with her highly successful Lady Gaga artRave: The ArtPop Ball Tour. The controversial superstar played a sold out show in Edmonton, Alta at Rexall Place just prior to the postponements.

Although new dates have not yet been rescheduled, Gaga has promised that she will be back to make up the two shows. A news release on her official website at asks fans to hold their tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled performances in each city.

The five-time Grammy winner is expected to make a full recovery and resume the tour on June 2 in San Diego, Calif. at Viejas Arena. Gaga has more shows slated for Canada on July 2 at Montreal's Bell Centre and July 9 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, as well as headline appearances at Quebec City Summer Festival on July 4 and July 5 at Ottawa Bluesfest. Did you know? Lady Gaga was supposed release a jazz album titled "Cheek to Cheek" with legendary crooner Tony Bennett on Jan. 1, 2014, but the album has been delayed tentatively until the fourth quarter of 2014.
