On Monday morning, Lady Gaga released her long-awaited video clip for her poorly performed song "Applause." This happened after it leaked during the middle of the night. We sincerely hope she isn't reading some of the responses. The general consensus seems to be either Lady Gaga's career is over with or that she needs to reinvent herself.
"I was forced to watch the video for Lady Gaga's "Applause" new video. Let's just say that watching a dog get hit by a car isn't even this ghastly," one viewer tweeted. Others weren't as harsh, but definitely critical.
"I used to like Lady Gaga when she first came out. Now, she is desperately trying to remain relevant. The 'Applause' video is even worse than the song. It is well styled, but just tries too hard," a former Gaga fan wrote.
Some of Lady Gaga's little monster's definitely liked the clip though and it's bound to get a lot of views, especially after Gaga tweeted for all her fans to keep refreshing the "Applause" video to help it reach number one. To further inflate the song's success, Mother Monster held a contest where the fans who download the most copies of "Applause" will win a chance to see her in concert.
