Lady Gaga aka "Mother Monster" premiered her new music video of "Applause" on Monday at Good Morning America. Gaga made an appearance on GMA to personally introduce the video. The New York Daily News reports, that Gage wore a very small white dress and was sporting a short haircut. Wearing little make-up, just as in the video, Gaga had a more natural look.
“My kind of music that I make is the kind that you look at,” said Gaga. For Gaga it was important to release the video at the same time as the song. But, last Monday hackers ruined Gaga's plan by leaking the song early. Like all of Gaga's music, "Applause" has an important meaning to her. DJ White Shadow, Gaga's DJ, called MTV News on Wednesday to give more background information on the track. He wanted listeners, especially the "Littel Monsters," to understand the evolution of the track.
She has a complete and total adoration for her fans. I've never seen anyone in my entire life work as hard or do as much for her fans. It's a back-and-forth thing. She does so much for them that they naturally want to do stuff for her. The reason why those kids are so into Lady Gaga is because Lady Gaga is so into them," he told MTV News on Wednesday.
The upbeat and energetic "Applause" has a sound that could be attributed to Cyndi Lauper, but in the same sense its completely different. The video appears to be in black & white, which allows for the bright colors that are used to be more intense. The video definitely has a 80s flavor blended properly with 21st century technology. Gaga says that she is constantly confronted by the negativity from critics but "lives for the applause" from her Little Monsters.
MTV announced on Monday that Lady Gaga will be the opening act of the 2013 MTV Music Video Awards on Aug. 25 at Brooklyn's Barclay Center. Gaga will be followed up by acts from Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke.
Of course the critics are saying that "Applause" is a flop, they are simple jealous. The sound, lyrics and video are truly amazing. Its obvious that Gaga is continuing to re-invent her self by exploring creative ideas and stretching her boundaries as an artist. On November 11, her Little Monsters will be able to experience Gaga's artistic development, with the release of her new album ARTPOP.
