Lady Gaga has set off a great deal of controversy early in 2013 with an appearance in an assault rifle bra. Today, Jan. 14, 2013, Peter Gicas has reported for E! Online, Lady Gaga Wears Assault Rifle Bra on Stage. At one point during her recent show in Vancouver, Canada, Lady Gaga stepped out on stage sporting a bra which was adorned with two fake plastic assault rifles.
Some folks have questioned the appropriateness of this outfit in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre and other mass killings with assault weapons across the United States. Emine Sinmaz has covered this story for the Mail Online, Gaga under fire over her assault-rifle bra: Singer performs with plastic guns just a month after Sandy Hook shooting. Lady Gaga has courted a great deal of controversy by wearing a bra with plastic assault-rifles for cups on stage, just a month after gunman Adam Lanza shot dead 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook junior school in Connecticut.
On Saturday Lady Gaga showed up on stage with the bizarre bra along with military green trousers and platform boots at a concert in Vancouver, Canada. This has all set off a bitter fued with acclaimed TV personality Sharon Osborne, who has criticized Lady Gaga for wearing fur and raw meat. Osborne has commented in a letter to Lady Gaga, "When I see you wearing fur, and using it as a fashion statement, the fact that defenseless animals have been killed so you can get your picture in the press is abhorrent to me."
Osborne has also said, "Shouldn’t you be teaching your little monster fans to respect animals and life?" Lady Gaga has defended herself with the response,"I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real. You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance." Lady Gaga appears to feel her manner of making a bizarre statement about assault rifles is also being completely misunderstood.
