Lady Gaga isn't giving in to former assistant Jennifer O’Neill's lawsuit with a settlement anytime soon. Lady Gaga responded to O'Neill's claims she's owed over 7,000 hours of unpaid overtime, calling her "a f---ing hood rat" in court papers, according to the Daily Mail Sept. 15.
Jennifer O'Neill is Lady Gaga's former best friend turned personal assistant. She reportedly was earning an annual salary of $75,000. Based on that she claims she's owed about $393,000.
The lawsuit is being called a landmark legal case, set to redraw the rules of employment for the entertainment industry, and perhaps beyond, according to Radar Online
In court documents obtained by the Mail, Gaga submitted an expletive laden 200-page witness statement detailing her side of the story, and explaining why she doesn’t feel she owes her former best friend a dime.
Gaga, 27, allegedly also called O'Neill a "disgusting human being", for bringing the civil suit against her. She explained giving her the job was basically a favor, and Jennifer was majorly unqualified for it.
Surely one can envision hitting it big and wanting to spread the wealth by putting friends and family on the payroll. But apparently the buddies had a falling out, or maybe Jennifer balked at having to actually do the work?
Lady Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, said this case could blow the doors off the entertainment industry because, "overtime payments are not usual in my line of work".
Gaga further explained that the people she employs, in lieu of overtime pay, enjoy the perks of a luxurious, jet-set life that seldom few ever get to experience.
Some of O'Neill's gripes include Gaga asking her to get her a tampon and flush her toilet. She claims she couldn't even have sex because she was forced to sleep with the pop superstar, since she hated sleeping alone.
After all, what are personal assistants for but to assist. What do you think, valid case or sour grapes?
