Two distinct voices of their generation are being heard in a big way. Lady Gaga confronted the state of Arizona with a personal political message that was more than just her fans to the dance. But first, Justin Bieber has a surprise in store for his legion of fans this fall. He's going to offer up a gallery of pictures worth more than a thousand words in a new 'photographic memoir.'
So what do you do when you already the pop heartthrob of a generation? You write your legion a fans a love letter. And, that's exactly what Justin Bieber is about to unleash on the world. This October, HarperCollins has announced plans to publish the singer's "photographic memoir" titled "Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story."
"Every day I wake up and count my blessings," Bieber said in a statement released this week by HarperCollins. "My fans have played such a large part in all of this and they help me live my dreams every day. I'm excited to share just a little bit more of my world with them through this book."
The book will contain an extensive gallery of rare and unseen photographs that are certain to make many a fan's heart beat faster.
"I think this is going to be something they can all enjoy," Bieber continued. "This is just another way for me to say thank you to my fans."
Given the current state of memoirists burning up the best seller charges, the publishers cited its collaboration with Bieber as a "real coup" as well as being "incredibly excited to be publishing this photographic memoir of his amazing journey."
A photographic memoir? An expected 3D concert motion picture? It appears America is about to catch a scorching new case of the "Bieber" very soon.
Speaking of feverish pop domination, Lady Gaga is burning up the world wide webs yet again, but this time for a political act of defiance. During her recent show at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona, over the weekend, she danced her way through calls to cancel the performance to protests the state's immigration reform law, Senate Bill 1070. Instead, she did the next best thing.
Gaga spoke her mind.
"Reject any person, any thing or any law that has ever made you feel like you don't belong," Gaga stated plainly and clearly over the raucous din of cheers from her devoted "Monsters."
The chart-topping songstress commented further that she'd been receiving calls from "really big rock and rollers, big pop stars, big rappers" to boycott appearing in Arizona. Gaga opted not to punish her fans, letting the show go on, which she felt was a statement enough.
"The nature of the 'Monster Ball' is to actively protest prejudice and injustice and that bulls**t that is put on our society," she said. "Because you're a superstar no matter who you are, or where you come from. And you were born that way."

Fight the Power: The divine Lady Gaga speaks out against SB 1070 at her show in Phoenix, AZ.

This woman is an idiot, now that she realizes that her ratings are low compared to Madonna (because she's just copying her) she feels the urge to criticize Arizona's SB1070 law like a traitor hoping that her most naive audience will not realize that the law only affects illegals. Let's delete her songs from our mp3s. GO ARIZONA!
That's a bit harsh. Lady Gaga rules no matter what!!
i don't think *anyone* understands that this bill is to simply enforce the law.
(and i am a big gaga fan)
P.S. and i live in tucson, arizona just north of the border.
Look like a majority of the audienced boo'd her on this. At least she admitted she's a dumb**** artist.
This law is insane.... This country was found on immigrants first of all.... Second who do you guys think WORK in the kitchen or cleans the restaurant where you people go eat??? IMMIGRANTS... They are not taking any jobs from anyone... THEY ARE TAKING THE JOB YOU GUYS DON'T WANT!!!!!! This country will go down without immigrants here.. let's face it... Yeah I think the border should be secured more effectively, but I don't think deporting 12 million immigrants is fair. THEY ARE SEPARATING FAMILIES!!!! Leaving U.S citizen children without their parents because they are being deported back to their countries!!! I do think they should deport immigrants that have committed crimes because they have violated the law... But I don't think is fair that they go after families that have been here for many years and are just trying to provide for their children... Come on wouldn't you do anything/everything to provide for your family???
THIS ARIZONA LAW SUCKS!!!!
"House Bill 2013" and "SB1070"
0 = Arizona
2 = USA/ Our Constitution/ We the People of the United States
We are a country that is ruled by the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, not by the majority of the day. When you do not know the principles in these documents, therein lays the problem in losing when you are challenged in court.
This month of July 2010, our U.S. Federal courts have found the so called State of Arizona hate filled legislation namely "House Bill 2013" and "SB1070" Un-constitution (So much for the intellect of Jan Brewer, "Did you read the bills you signed?"). But we all know that they will go crying to the Supreme Court of the United States, please, please, please go. We will fight you in Arizona, any other state, and yes in Washington DC. We will not tire, we will not be silent and we will persevere, I promise you.
In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme of clans; the Baggers, Birthers and
In reference to gagarbage, whose name I must simply state is nothing short of extraordinary, she is hardly copying Madonna. The only similarities between the two is the fact that both have blonde hair (even though Gaga's real color is brown), that they both are situated within the pop industry, and lastly that both are fresh and invigorating, or at least Madonna was. I think Lady Gaga is exactly what the music industry needed when she first broke out. She writes her own songs, she tries to entertain everyone she can, and she is just a very loving person in general, and accepting of anybody. I don't think she deserves to be referenced to garbage. That's just disrespectful, and who are you in the first place to speak up to her? Probably a nobody.
This is coming from both a Gaga and a Madonna fan. I think both women are great people with large hearts, and both aspire to do great things, and try to make all of us open our eyes, and appreciate everyone for who they truly are.
Seriously, if the fans had not purchased tickets, to her concert (of which, I have no doubt ..was a totally fabulous production) ..would she have felt the same way?
I shall have to argue ..probably not.
It is NOT an injustice, to follow the rules. And, no one hates an immigrant ..we just don't appreciate ..the whole "illegal alien" portion of the equation.
Good for her, I think I'll go out buy a Lady Gaga CD
It was not immigrants that Arizona's SB1070 law was written for, it is the ILLEGAL ALIENS. Educate yourselves as to the difference.
Ditto's to your statement gagarbage.
Very difficult subject, YES they are ILLEGAL and YES they committed a crime by coming in the US uninvited. But the US should make it a little easier to immigrate. People come to this country because they want to escape the tyranny or the hardship of their countries. The US should pressure Mexico and other Southern American countries to provide a better life for their citizens. Furthermore the US should enforce current laws against employment violators and finally find a way to allow current ILLEGAL immigrants (with no criminal records)a permanent status in the US. Perhaps if they can prove they were self sufficient for the last 5 years they would earn their ticket in. Lastly Foreigners who wants to come to this country should strive to adapt to the culture of this country and not try to impose theirs. I know I have, I emigrated from Europe in the late 1970's. Love
OMG! Poor woman er man (whatever!) will have a much harder time trying to get that daily supply of cocaine.
i stand with gaga all the way. F*** anything, any law or anyone that makes you feel like you don't belong. if you go far enough, we are all illegal immigrants. ask the native indians, they'll be glad to tell you how they feel about some europeans coming over this continent and stealing their land. just b/c it happened 100s of years ago does not make it right. LEARN YOUR HISTORY BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH.
IF WE GO BACK FAR ENOUGH, INDIANS THOUGHT ALL OUR ANCENSTORS WERE ILLEGAL ALIENS. THEREFORE, YOU TOO ARE INDIRECTLY PART OF THE "ILLEGAL ALIENS" PART OF THE EQUATION.
oi gaga tudo bem eu vou adoro sua musicas shao bjus
me manda outro recado par min
