On Wednesday, Billboard's chief editor Bill Werde called out Lady Gaga for desperately trying to inflate her chart position by posting links to an illegal site. A link that Gaga later deleted allowed her fans to goose "Applause" video views up to 1000 times just by pressing a button. Lady Gaga's rabid Little Monsters, upset that "Applause" appears to have flopped internationally, weren't too happy.
"I hope your daughter gets raped and you die of AIDS you fa**ot," tweeted one fan. "Little Monsters will never forgive you," the fan continued. But that was one of the nicer tweets. Several Little Monsters issued creative death threats to the Billboard editor and only some of their tweets have been removed.
Lady Gaga is a supposed anti-bullying activist who even has a foundation to fight her cause. However, many critics have accused this of being just another publicity ploy to market herself as the mother of all those who are disfranchised. During her last tour, she had a bus that catered to the psychological needs of gay and lesbian youth. However, Gaga was accused of using the bus as a way to unleash thousands of tickets that she couldn't sell.
