Lady Gaga will star, along with The Muppets, on an ABC Television special on Thanksgiving. The ninety-minute special, "Lady Gaga & The Muppets' Holiday Spectacular," will also feature Elton John and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
This will be the second time that Lady Gaga will be part of ABC's holiday special.
"I was so excited when ABC called me about doing a holiday special this year," Gaga told reporters. "I knew it just wouldn't be a complete night of laughter and memories without The Muppets."
Kermit the Frog was Lady Gaga's date to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. That same year, Gaga also wore a dress made of Kermit the Frog toys on German TV.
Lady Gaga commented, "Can't wait to see the gang again and I hope Miss Piggy's still not mad about Kermit. We're just friends"!
ABC issued a statement saying, "What an incredible opportunity! We have a long history with Ms. Gaga, so we jumped at the chance to do a holiday special with her."
"We won't even mind if she mistakes some of the Muppets for pieces of her wardrobe, again," Kermit added.
Lady Gaga is keeping her schedule filled. She is set to perform at the very first YouTube Music Awards with Eminem and Arcade Fire, as well as other guests. She will also appear on Sunday's (October 27) "X Factor" television program. She will be performing the song, "Venus," from her upcoming third studio album, "Artpop." This is scheduled for release on November 11, 2013.
Elton John, too, has a history with The Muppets, having appeared with on their television show back in 1978. He performed, "Crocodile Rock," with the Muppet band and crocodiles. Too bad that the crocodiles got him in the end.
Elton released his new album, "The Diving Board," on September 24. It is his first studio album in seven years.
After suffering a big scare on tour this year when his appendix burst, John is back in fighting form and is back on the road with his rescheduled tour.
The holidays will definitely be brighter with Elton, Gaga and Joseph Goron-Levitt making merry on Thanksgiving night.
