On Sunday evening, Lady Gaga performed for the very first time since (supposedly) having hip surgery. She did a really strange performance of her song "Applause," which featured her lip-syncing and dancing awkwardly. "Applause" has not become the big hit Gaga expected.
Judging by the comments on Twitter Sunday evening, it's doubtful that Lady Gaga's career will be helped by this performance. She didn't even finish her performance before the knives came out on Twitter. Here are just some of the comments:
"I once watched my golden retriever get hit by a car. Watching Gaga perform tonight was far worse."
"Lady Gaga dances like a drunk chicken who hasn't had sex in two months."
"Didn't Gaga say she never lip-syncs? She definitely wasn't singing live all the time."
"Didn't Madonna do this same exact same performance twenty years ago?"
"I thought Gaga was 'born this way.' She certainly didn't mind having a nose and a chin job."
Those were some of the nicer comments. Lady Gaga is expected to perform next week at the iTunes Festival. Let's hope she gives a better performance than she did for MTV. What did you think of Lady Gaga's performance? Do you think people are being too mean? Let us know in the Comments section.
