On Saturday afternoon, Lady Gaga's new single "Do What U Want" plummeted to number 21 on Kworb.net's iTunes sales tracking chart. The song originally shot to number one due to Gaga giving away free downloads of the single to people who pre-ordered the ARTPOP album, which is out on November 11. Many believe these free downloads shouldn't count.
The fact that the song has plummeted so fast is indicative of the fact that it's not a hit with the general public. Gaga's record company Interscope created fake hype with the free downloads and announced "Do What U Want" would now be the second single since the initial response was so big. They have not said anything since the song plummeted down iTunes. It is thought that they are rethinking their strategy and "Venus"may still be the second single.
Perhaps upset that yet another song of hers is underperforming, Lady Gaga appeared nearly nude in public yesterday and just released another almost completely nude picture of herself on Twitter. Meanwhile, early word on ARTPOP is that the album isn't bad, but not very good either.
