Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera, two domineering blonde pop powerhouses often pinned against each other in silly media wars, first put to rest any and all ill contention during the finale of the most recent installment of "The Voice." The explosive onstage collaboration featured shimmering outfits, smoke, mirrors and boisterous vocal runs.
As a result, it appears the boldly eccentric performers will be pouring their voices together for a brand new studio version of "Do What U Want," lifted from Gaga's recent "ARTPOP" record. The project also features the lead single "Applause," a monstrous hit demonstrating the diva's strength and vibrantly unique phrasing and stage presence.
As fans know, the original "Do What U Want" version features the smooth R&B chops and charm of R. Kelly.
The new recording will hit retail on Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
Relive Aguilera and Gaga's magical (and rather quite '70s) performance above.
