Lady Gaga has announced that she has officially canceled the remainder of her tour and will be undergoing hip surgery. Gossip Cop reported on Wednesday, Feb. 13 that Gaga, who revealed she had injured her hip last month is battling a more serious condition than initially reported.
Gaga is reported to be suffering from synovitis, an inflammation of the joints.
Gaga's reps posted a statement on her LittleMonsters.com page writing,“After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances."
The surgery will require Gaga a significant amount of recovery time and, ”unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal,” read the statement, which adds that ”refunds for the canceled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb 14, 2013.”
Gaga has been touring since last April, beginning in South Korea, and has performed more than 100 concerts in support of her 2011 album "Born This Way." The tour is currently scheduled to end with a March 20 show in Tulsa, Okla.
Makeup dates for the missed shows will be announced later.
