Today, Pop diva Lady Gaga announced via Twitter, Facebook, and her website she is cancelling upcoming arena shows in Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton due to injury and chronic pain.
She explained in an official press release, "I am completely devastated and heartsick. I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve.”
With over ten million Twitter followers and fifty-five million likes on Facebook, thousands of Gaga's "Little Monsters" (what she called her fans) have left messages and tweets wishing her wel and expressing their continued adoration of the injured artist.
A follow-up tweet cited the source of her ailment as synovitis, a severe inflammation of joints, which surely makes her active live performance extremely painful.
According to Gaga's official website, fans are to hold on to their tickets for rescheduled tour dates in the future. With concerts booked solid through March 20th, her Chicago, Detroit, and Ontario fans will have to hold their breath for at least another month.
