Live Nation announced on Feb. 13, 2013 that the remaining Lady Gaga "Born This Way Ball" tour dates have now been canceled due to the severity of her injury.
The Mother Monster is due to have surgery for a labral tear of her right hip and will not perform at any venues in 2013.
On Tuesday, Gaga announced that she would postpone four upcoming tour dates. However, late in the day on Wednesday, Live Nation Global Touring announced that all tickets to the remaining 2013 shows would be refunded and Lady Gaga would not be rescheduling any shows.
The following is the press release from Live Nation Global Touring:
Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled. After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances.
She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover.
This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal. Refunds for the cancelled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb 14, 2013.
One day before she had to cancel all shows on the tour, Lady Gaga tweeted that she was "heartsick" that she had to postpone the shows.
"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the last month it has worsened .. I've been praying it would heal." -@ladygaga
Lady Gaga had at least 17 more shows left in her "Born This Way Ball" tour. While all tickets are refundable, it's certain that her Little Monsters are very disappointed and hope she will recover quickly.
