Collaboration is defined as “two or more people working together to realize shared goals”. This is the core principal of “Bent Collective.” Bent Collective is an engine for collaboration with a shared goal of fusing the talents of emerging deejays and producers together to put their collective stamp on the over-ground of dance music. Coming together for Lady Gaga’s “Applause” are two of Europe’ biggest talents, Danny Verde (Italy) and Steven Redant (Madrid).
Each working in their own respective studios in different countries laboring through travels, gigs and solo projects to accommodate the deadline for the “Applause” remix. Through the wonder of skype and shared programs the duo hatched the bottom end of the track with Danny even flying from Italy into Steven’s studio in Madrid. The mix and its various sections and parts passed back and forth. The fusion worked, with the final layers of the process resulting in an anthemic take on Lay Gaga’s latest single.
Danny Verde is a musical prodigy who has worked in all aspects of music; including house, dance- pop production , DJ, song writing, keyboardist, and vocalist. He hails from just
outside of Milan in Northern Italy where his recording studio, Holab Studios, has been home to many productions with International labels, artists, and producers since 1994. Today,
Danny is one of the most sought after remixers and DJs on the International Circuit. He has remixed some of the biggest pop stars of our time including Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, The Wanted and Scissor Sisters. In the year between October 2011 and October 2012, Danny had no less than SIX #1 Billboard Dance hits, more than any other remixer on the scene. Currently Danny is booked nearly every weekend at some exotic location around the world. Fresh off the Atlantis Caribbean Cruise , Danny is fired up to start a busy spring travel schedule, which will see him headlining events at Sydney’s Mardi Gras Festival , Palm Springs’ famous White Party, Bangkok’s Songkran and many more
Steven Redant hails from Brussels and is now living and working in Madrid. He started out with a popular house music radio show and then quickly moved beyond the airwaves and into the clubs. Privilege, the biggest club in the world, offered him a spot for the summer and from there it was on to Queen in Paris, his beloved LA Demence (where he’s still a resident DJ) and into the guest circuit around the world , playing festivals such as Mardi Gras in Sydney, Winter Music Conference Miami, Paradise in Hawaii, Fuego in Puerto Rico and hitting clubs all across the world. He is praised for his high energy tribal sound and relentless sets that keep the dance floor pumping at all times. His remixes for major artists such as Icona Pop, Justin Bieber, George Michael, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue and Nelly Furtado are supported by big name DJ’s such as: Axwell, Chris Kaeser, Paulo and Mickey Friedman to name but a few.
Electronic Dance Music has long benefited from the art of collaboration. The various members of Bent Collective are already successful in their own right within their respective lanes. Together, they promise to ramp up collaborative fusion and move the goalposts for dance music forward as the genre continues to dominate the music industry.
The best is yet to come.. It’s a BENT thing!
