It is no secret that Adam Levine is not a huge fan of Lady Gaga. The two have been known to indirectly duke it out on Twitter. When it comes to their supposed Twitter feud, it appears that Lady Gaga has picked up where Adam left off and she is out to sock it to him in a big way at the expense of possibly the most deserving contestant for tonight's finale.
Not too long ago, the Maroon 5 frontman took what seemed like a dig at Mother Monster when he tweeted, "Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher," followed by, "I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's it. It doesn't need any extra sauce."
Gaga taking his tweets personally, snapped back soon after writing, "uh oh guys the art police is here." Three days later, Levine has piped in again, tweeting this morning, "by the way, I'm NOT an artist. I sing in a band and I make music with my friends." He then added... "while we're at it we should call the grammar police," apparently a reference to the fact that Gaga used the word "is" and not "are" in her tweet on Saturday regarding "the art police."
After Monday night's airing of NBC's 'The Voice' of which Adam is a coach, Gaga reached out to her 40 million plus Twitter followers to ask for support of 16 year old Jacquie Lee, a competitor coached by her one- time rival Christina Aguilera. Many Twitter users were up in arms over Gaga's decision to tweet support for Lee as the popular favorite of the show judged purely by talent and America's votes is 28 year old Tessanne Chin, who is coached by Levine. It has been widely speculated since then that Gaga only supported Jacquie who is clearly following behind Chin in an effort to derail Adam's projected win. Supporters of Tessanne is hoping that American will make the right decision tonight and that positivity will overrule any attempt to sway voters in the opposition direction.
It's believed that Levine's initial criticism was tagged to the 27-year-old pop star's "Applause" music video, which features a number of famous works of art, including the 1957 film The Seventh Seal and Sandro Botticelli's 1486 painting, The Birth of Venus.
Could this feud cost Tessanne Chin her crown tonight as The Voice ? Let's wait and see...
