Country music trio Lady Antebellum has won just about every major award that can be won, except for perhaps the two Entertainer of the Year awards. They've won a mantelful of awards, including a half a dozen Grammy awards, several ACMs and CMAs, and just a few days ago walked away with the Favorite Band, Duo, or Group (Country Music) award at the 2011 American Music Awards. On Nov. 26, Lady Antebellum brings their "Own The Night Tour" to South Carolina to the Florence Civic Center.
The band burst onto the country music scene back in 2008 with their eponymous debut album, storming the charts with three hit singles, incluing the No. 1 smash "I Run To You," which, according to Billboard, was the No. 1 country song for the year. They continued their chart success with their second album, Need You Now, which added three more No. 1 songs to their total (out of four songs released from the album). Another No. 1 song, "Just A Kiss," came off their present offering, Own The Night, and their current single, "We Owned The Night," looks as if it will make number six as it shows no sign of stopping (currently at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart).
The trio -- comprised of Charles Kelley (lead and background vocals), Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano, and mandolin) and Hillary Scott (lead and background vocals) -- was formed in 2006 in Nashville, Tenn., around a shared interest in songwriting -- referred to on the group's website as a "shared heartbeat."
"That's the core of our group, how we started," Dave Haywood said. "What spawned our friendship was that special writing chemistry. That's when we are the happiest, just sitting in a room together making music."

And that heartfelt music resonates with country music fans. Thus far all three Lady Antebellum albums have gone at least platinum (with Need You Now going triple platinum).
Lady Antebellum's "Own The Night Tour" just left Huntsville, Ala., and will set up in Savannah, Ga., the night after it plays in Florence. The group will then take a four-day rest before starting up the tour again in Colorado Springs on Dec. 1.
Touring with and opening for Lady Antebellum is singer/songwriter Josh Kelley, the lead singer's older brother, who is promoting his seventh album, Georgia Clay. Also on the bill is Edens Edge, an Arkansas trio just off touring with Brad Paisley and promoting their debut album.
Tickets for the show range from $39.50 to $44.50. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Saturday evening. The Florence Civic Center is located at 3300 W. Radio Drive in Florence.
