Lady Antebellum took the ‘American Idol’ stage during the finale

Lady Antebellum joined the fun during the “American Idol” finale according to ABC on May 22, 2014. Lady Antebellum was among a long list of performers that took the stage during the finale leading up to the moment that Caleb Johnson was crowned the winner. The 23 year old from Asheville, North Carolina claimed the crown by receiving the most viewer votes making him the “American Idol” season 13 champion.

Johnson earned a recording contract and won a 2015 Ford Mustang. He will also be getting to work on an album that is set to be released on August 12, 2014. The season 13 second place spot went to Jena Irene who also will be driving away in a 2015 Ford Mustang for making her way into the final round on “American Idol.” Johnson and Irene will still be spending time together because they both will be hitting the road for the “American Idol” tour and Johnson will be escorting Irene to her prom.

Lady Antebellum made their television debut of their latest single "Bartender" during the finale that also featured performances by the shows judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban. Show host Ryan Seacrest even joined in on the singing by performing "Right Here Waiting" with Richard Marx. Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr., Urban and “American Idol” mentor Randy Jackson hit the stage together for a performance of Cyndi Lauper's hit "True Colors" and "Go Your Own Way" from Fleetwood Mac.

Lady Antebellum will keep the performances coming when they kick off the Summer Concert Series performing live from Central Park on “Good Morning America” on May 23, 2014. You can also catch “American Idol” judge Keith Urban taking the Summer Concert series stage on July 11, 2014 with Luke Bryan performing Aug. 8, 2014 and Florida Georgia Line will be ready to go on Aug. 15, 2014. Brad Paisley will close out the Summer Concert Series on “Good Morning America” on Aug. 29, 2014.
