Lady Antebellum picked up two trophies at the 2013 American Country Awards, proving that even Hillary Scott’s maternity leave can’t slow them down. In the summer, Hillary gave birth to her first child. After a short maternity leave, the band jumped right back in to promoting their latest album “Golden” and earned the votes of fans for the American Country Awards Group of the Year.
As they band took the stage, an excited Hillary Scott took the mic and said:
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! First and foremost we have to thank the fans. We love you. We would not be here without you. ...Our spouses, our families, my daughter Eisele. It’s pretty cool to say I’m a Mama now.
Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood then collaborated in inviting fans to see their tour starting up in January, which will feature Kacey Musgraves and Kip Moore.
Lady Antebellum also picked up the American Country Award for Single of the Year: Duo or Group for their single “Downtown.”
