The 54th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Celebrities from across all genres of music gathered at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles to celebrate the best in music over the past year.
There were many country music artists in attendance, including Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley who joined together as presenters for the Grammy award for Best Country Album. Miranda looked elegant in her floor length, taupe and white shimmering gown, while Dierks Bentley pulled off a more casual, but handsome look in a leather jacket over black tee.
As Miranda walked onto the stage, a quick camera shot of her husband in the audience, revealed a seemingly smitten Blake Shelton, watching Miranda Lambert with a smile. Miranda Lambert, in turn, giggled when announcing Blake Shelton as one of the nominees for Best Country Album.
Blake Shelton's Red River Blue was nominated along with Speak Now by Taylor Swift, Own the Night by Lady Antebellum, My Kinda Party by Jason Aldean, Chief by Eric Church and Here For A Good Time by George Strait. Lady Antebellum would be announced as the winners for the second consecutive year.
As Lady Antebellum made their way to the stage, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott could be seen stopping to hug Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift along the way. When the arrived on stage, Charles Kelley began by saying, "We did not expect this. I wanna say happy early Valentine's Day since I won't see you, my lovely wife on Tuesday night."
Hillary Scott continued, "We'd love to thank the fans. I'd love to thank my husband, Chris, our families at home, everybody at Capital Records."
Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley went on to thank all the players on the album and Charles Kelley ended the acceptance speech with, "Thank you for changing our lives last year, this night. We love you."
As the camera broke away, a squeal could be heard from Hillary Scott.
The 2012 Best Country Album award for Own the Night is Lady Antebellum's seventh Grammy award win. Five of the group's wins came in 2011, when they dominated the Grammys with five out of six possible wins for their previous album Need You Now.
