The youngest player to reach 20,000 NBA points, LaBron James, has achieved an awesome feat. After reaching 20,000 career points against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, he has reached this goal a whole year before his LA-Lakers rival. At 28-years and 17-days-old, James easily swept the title out from under Kobe Bryant.
“A haul of 25 points in the Heat's 92-75 victory over the Warriors secured another slice of history for one of the finest players the NBA has ever seen,” says CNN.
James gave many thanks on Twitter saying:
"'I give everything to the game and I hope it continues to give back to me! Love you so much! More importantly I wouldn't be anything without my teammates over these 10 years! Thanks guys. You're the best'."(CNN)
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra recognized James's tenacity in a moving tribute. James is number 13 to reach 20,000 points and 5,000 assists. Congratulations go out to James, you earned it.
Bryant and James went head-to-head Thursday night in Los Angeles in “Heat vs. Lakers”. The game was well matched, but Heat yanked the rug out from under the Lakers in the last two minutes, stealing the win at 99 to 90 points. Heat scored the dividing nine points in those last two minutes. With 49 seconds to go, James scored a three-point-play leaving five seconds to spare. This gave him a new season-high point total.
