Well, its Labor Day weekend, and that means a couple of things. Gotta bring in the lawn furniture. Better put up those storm windows. Summer is pretty much over. And, of course, its the final weekend for the Alaska State Fair.
And it has been quite the fair this year. The giant cabbage contest winner for the year broke a world record. Steve Hubacek of Wasilla cultivated the words largest cabbage, weighing in at 125.9 pounds. Scott Robb of Palmer also broke a world record with his 82.9 pound rutabaga. Congratulations guys!!
So here is the rundown of events for the weekend of September 5-7.
Saturday, September 5: Experience Alaska Day, presented by Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. Rodney Atkins will take the stage at the Borealis Theater at 7:30pm. Tickets are available until 4:30pm. Also going on today:
