Labor Day weekend is swiftly approaching -- time to fire up the grill, hang with family and enjoy the outdoors. This long weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, so make the most of it with these ideas for a fun and exciting holiday.

BASEBALL: Cheer on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as they face the Oakland A’s in the fight for AL West supremacy. The Friday, Aug. 29, game features vintage Angels T-shirt giveaways and the Saturday, Aug. 30, game includes postgame fireworks.

RIVER TUBING: Go tubing down the Kern River with So Cal Rafting in Kernville for $35 (reg. $68). Ride the rapids all weekend long; the deal ends Sunday, Aug. 31.

Or, head to Carlsbad to check out LEGOLAND California ($99 adult, $89 child for five-day resort hopper pass).
