Labor Day Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Yields 2 cups of Barbecue Sauce
2 cups of ketchup
1 cup of water
½ cup of apple cider vinegar
¼ cup of light or dark brown sugar
¼ cup of sugar, if using dark brown sugar, decrease white sugar to 1/8 of a cup
½ Tablespoon of fresh cracked black pepper or ground black pepper
½ Tablespoon of onion powder, ground mustard
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoons of light corn syrup
1 Tablespoon of barbecue seasoning
Directions: In a medium to large saucepan, place all ingredients and bring mixture to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for approximately two hours. Make sure to stir occasionally. Store in an air tight container.
