Is there mail delivery on Labor Day? The annual federal holiday is celebrated on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 and while many people will be relaxing at cookouts, it will be business as usual for others who may need to mail a package or buy stamps at their local post office.

The Inquisitr states that all USPS locations will be closed on Labor Day and there will be no mail delivery to both homes and businesses. For those who want to check their post office box on Monday, new mail will not be added to the box until Tuesday, Sept. 2.

If you desperately need stamps, many grocery stores and pharmacies sell books of stamps at the register. However, your mail won't go out until Tuesday even if you drop it in the box on Monday.

Although federal offices, banks, schools, the stock market and all post office locations are closed on Labor Day, there will be many retail stores open. Walmart, Target, most malls, restaurants, grocery stores and liquor stores will be open regular or holiday hours on Monday. Call ahead to confirm business hours before you head out.
