LA MESA ESTA SERVIDA (Dinner is Served), the most recent short film by Award Winner South Florida Filmmaker Agatino Zurría, has been included as part of the I'M NOT GONNA MOVE TO LA! event, an afternoon with filmmakers, artists, musicians and art enthusiasts that has been organized by Diliana Alexander and the Miami Indie Film Club.
This is a democratized space where the work of 10 local filmmakers is celebrated and exhibited in a festive environment that includes music and the showing of new short film productions that highlights the cultural diversity of South Florida.
To spice up the fun of this event, and in the best spirit of competition, the audience will have the chance to vote for the best short film (Best of Show), which will receive a special award and the chance to be part of the next film showcase.
La Mesa Esta Servida will be showing with other 9 short films for the chance to win a second run in the theatre. The film has been nominated for Best Director at the Miami Life Awards 2012 and its cast includes South Florida filmmakers and actors Ika Santamaría, Juan Carlos Pinedo, Edna Gutierrez, Izzy Martinez, Neffer Rojas and Andres Mejía.
"For independent filmmakers, opportunities like the one the Miami Indie Film Club is giving us, are precious, because even if our films are not considered "commercial" in the traditional way, we want to have as much exposure as possible, so that the audience can see and comment on our work".
This event will start at 12:00 noon with music by Jadeau, and it will be followed by the screening at 1:00 PM. It takes place at the O Cinema, In Wynwood, Fl. Tickets are on sale (Space is limited). This is the link to purchase your tickets:
