This year, some brave volunteers and supporters of Forte Animal Rescue have formed a team to run the LA Marathon on March 17, 2013 to raise much needed funds for their dogs they rescue from the pounds and streets. The team aims to raise $10,000 and the organization’s Media Coordinator, Lauren Blum said, “It's definitely doable — with your help! $5, $10, $20, whatever you can give will be so very appreciated and is completely tax deductible.” Donations can be made at this link.
A 100% no-kill rescue based in Marina del Rey, Forte saves all breeds and mixes, from poodles to pit bulls, with the belief that all animals deserve a chance at life. Forte typically has 40 to 50 animals in its adoption program at any given time. To date, the organization has saved the lives of more than 1,000 dogs.
Forte Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, with no paid staff, dedicated to finding solutions for the problem of pet overpopulation through its educational activities, animal adoption efforts, and outreach program.
In addition to ongoing boarding and other expenses, Forte Animal Rescue continually incurs significant veterinary medical expenses for the animals it rescues. Donations or any support is always greatly appreciated, Blum said. Donations can be made online or via regular mail at PO Box 10085, Marina del Rey, CA 90295. Forte Animal Rescue is also looking for foster homes for its rescued dogs, along with volunteers to help its weekly adoption events.
